Description
The Grundfos BMET booster unit consists of a BME pump and a BMT connected in series and both pumps have a Grundfos multistage submersible pump integrated in a stainless steel sleeve. The BMP pump is driven by a trapezoidal belt pulley head powered by a standard electric motor. The ball bearing of the pulley has an automatic lubrication and oil cooling system. The BMT pump is driven by a pelton turbine and is connected in series with the first pump. BMET pressure boosters are designed for use in reverse osmosis systems where energy from the resulting high pressure condensate is recovered from the pelton turbine. This saves up to 34% energy compared to conventional systems. The shaft seal, in the BMP pump, is made of carbon / silicon, specially designed for high pressures. Both pumps incorporate a lubricating axial thrust bearing to absorb the axial thrust from the pump. The tire bearings on both pumps are oil-lubricated and the ball bearings on the engine are oil-lubricated.
